ONE OF A KIND… (OOAK) collectible hand-painted stone, pulsing with quiet courage and murmurs of inner strength.
THIS STONE IS… a happy stone and a celebratory stone and, despite its name, it is not, in any way, a political stone. In fact, it is an anti-political stone, for it loves all living beings - people, animals and plants. It is a stone that wants nothing more than for peace to reign on Earth and the bells in Heaven to chime, ringing out loud and proud because all is well down below and everyone and everything can sleep well in bed at night.
🙌🏻
WOULD BUT they could…
WOULD THAT it were…
THINGS ARE far from well.
WE ARE miles from peace.
IF ONLY one could sleep soundly.
🙌🏻
AND WITH THAT… simple, yet complicated, wish: perhaps it does become political? Perhaps it becomes a pariah and a hot potato? Because, for some reason, peace has been hijacked and seems to be an issue that elicits much heated and excited debate these days. What the heck?!!!
I’VE CALLED IT… ‘Stars and Stripes’, simply because it is made up of stars and stripes, and sometimes simplicity is best. And when you unpack the stars and the stripes, you find the things that make up my mind and my life: a desire for straight lines and simplicity, a need for tidiness and order – everything in its place, everything doing its job; and on top: a little magical thinking, a little magical doing, a belief in things I cannot hear or see – a bookcase full of tarot and oracle cards, a drawer full of gem and flower essences, a house full of crystals and handmade art. And that’s just the start…
STARS AND STRIPES
This stone speaks softly, truth in its stripes;
A canvas of colors, in gold stars it writes.
It isn’t political, though named as such.
It calls for a world where peace means as much.
It dreams of a place where all beings belong,
Where bells ring in Heaven, their chime a sweet song.
Would that we could sleep soundly at night.
But peace is elusive, just out of sight.
It’s simple, this wish; yet tangled and fraught:
A hope that’s hijacked, by anger now caught.
What happened to peace, so honest and clear?
Why does its name stir conflict and fear?
In stripes, it seeks order; in stars, it finds hope:
A need for straight lines, a way we might cope.
Beneath all its colours, the magic is there –
A whisper of truth; a wish, and a prayer.
So name it again, but let this truth shine:
This stone stands for love, for hearts that align.
A voice for the quiet, a call for the kind;
Stars and stripes shining, in heart and in mind.
👉🏻 HOW DOES… this stone make you feel?
👉🏻 DOES IT… call you to action or stroke you to comfortable and safe inside?
👉🏻 DOES IT… make you think you could sleep at night?
👆🏻 I HOPE YOU… find as much pleasure in gazing into this stone as I did in painting it.
👉🏻 INSPIRED BY: Christmas presents, wrapping paper, Paul Smith, flags (and all that they symbolise), pretty spring colours, and a love of painting straight lines and rainbows and testing out different colours next to each other.
