THE PROCESS:
Every pebble begins as something blank and unassuming – a small, smooth canvas formed by time and nature, privy to a plethora of adventures and experiences yet to be uncovered. Some are perfectly oval, others nearly round, and a few defy description entirely, their shapes unique and intriguing. Each holds within it the quiet promise of transformation and, my hands, it becomes more than just a stone. It becomes a keeper of secrets. A vessel for dreams. A bridge between the tangible and the imagined.
The tools that I use are simple. Non-toxic paint markers and water-based gloss. But the process itself is anything but. Creation, for me, is a meditative ritual, a reflective conversation between the pebble and myself. I don’t impose my ideas or force a design. Instead, I wait. I listen. Shapes and colours rise slowly to the surface, like whispers gathering strength or raindrops collecting into a clear, still pool, until the story the stone wants to tell is revealed.
THE INSPIRATION:
Much of my inspiration comes from dreams and channelled journeys – those liminal spaces where the edges blur and the unseen becomes visible. In these moments, I catch glimpses other places: golden forests bathed in shifting light, wild meadows bristling with movement, silver streams that seem to carry secrets. These visions guide my hand, their essence captured in intricate patterns, flowing lines, and vibrant hues.
THE STORIES THEY TELL:
But the stones are more than just decorative objects. Each one carries an energy, an invitation, a message. Some radiate the warmth of a sunlit afternoon, their colours vibrant and vital. Others exhale the calm serenity of moonlit nights, grounding and tranquil. Many resonate with the timeless magic of ancient forests, their designs echoing natural cycles, moments of stillness, and renewal. Every pebble invites interpretation. But the true meaning isn’t mine to decide. Sometimes, I include a poem, a question, or a few words to kindle your imagination. Yet the narrative remains yours alone, to uncover at will as you tune in. What feelings does it stir? Where does it lead you?
